200 new jobs for Colorado Springs

Because it is well established that job growth is one of the fundamental drivers of real estate demand and prices, I am always attuned to any new developments.

Colorado Springs has long been home to many Department of Defense activities and our local economy has benenfited from it, being buffered from many of the econmonic swings that impact other markets. So I was glad to see this article in our local paper Sunday evening. No matter the source, 200 new, good paying, jobs in our market is another positive development!

Peterson wing getting 200 more airmen

Fort Carson isn’t the only growing military installation in Colorado Springs.

Peterson Air Force Base’s 302nd Airlift Wing, a reserve unit that fights fires with air drops and hauls cargo in Iraq and Afghanistan, will gain nearly 200 full-time airmen (emphasis added) to round out its part-time ranks. [Read more] (March 15, 2009 – 4:36 PM Tom Roeder THE GAZETTE)
